Co-founder, CEO, Appier
Chih Han Yu spent 10 years in academia from Harvard to Stanford, doing research in the field of artificial intelligence, robotics and machine learning, before co-founding Appier in 2012 with Winnie Lee and Joe Su. The startup raised a total of US$162 million in funding by its Series D round in 2019, went public on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in March 2021, and has over 400 employees in 17 locations around the world.
Appier uses AI to help businesses improve their customer engagement and automate decision-making. One of its products, called Aiqua, allows digital marketing professionals to cut down on labour-intensive work with an automated content marketing platform that delivers personalized messages to audiences across multiple channels. Appier also recently acquired BotBonnie, an AI-powered chatbot that companies can use to communicate with customers online. Yu was the only Taiwanese invited to the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leaders 2016.
