Chih-Han Yu

Founder, Appier

 

Extremely well-educated, Chih-Han Yu graduated from the information engineering department at National Taiwan University, and has a master's degree in computer science from Stanford University and a doctorate in computer science from Harvard University. He also served as a researcher in Harvard's AI laboratory. With a focus on AI, Chih-Han set up Appier in 2012 to analyse human habits of using various screens through advanced AI technology and led professional teams to support information analysis, so as to facilitate the release of online ads on social media in a more accurate manner. This year, Appier acquired Indian startup Qgraph and launched AI-driven marketing automation platform AIQUA. Due to his initiatives, Chih-Han was selected for the list of Top 50 Technology Stars in Asia by Asia Tatler and was also the only Taiwanese named on the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leaders Class of 2015. He won the Vision Pioneer Award and the ERSO Award in 2018. Chih-Han foresees that AI will appear in a greater variety of interactive modes, so more breakthroughs must be made in creativity.
