Promising young archer Chih-Chun Tang looks to achieve more at the 2024 Olympics

Only 20 years old, Chih-Chun Tang made his Olympic debut in Tokyo in 2021, where he came in fourth place in the singles competition but bagged the silver medal in the team event with Junheng Wei and Yucheng Deng. Tang has been practising archery since he was a child, and in middle school, he already set the goal of entering the Olympics.

He competed in the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics where he won bronze as a mixed team. The same year, he joined the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games, his first international competition as an adult national player, taking home gold in the team event.

At the 2021 110th National Games, Tang returned to his former high school to team up with the 31-year-old archer Lei Qianying, who once coached a young Tang in the doubles category, clinching the gold.
