A music director who breaks boundaries with delicate emotions
Chen Chien-Chi, born on February 3, 1973, is a musician and composer from Taiwan. He graduated from Tamkang University with a degree in accounting and has achieved extensive success in the music field, particularly in composing scores for theatre, television dramas, films and advertisements.
His musical works span multiple domains, including pop music and theatre music. He has produced albums and concert music for several well-known singers such as Wakin Chau Emil Chau, Sandee Chan, Cheer Chen, A-mei and Waa Wei, and has served as a keyboardist and music director. Additionally, he is the founder of Forgood Music and Forgood Sounds, and participates as the music director for the Mr. Wing Theatre Company and Pourquoi Pas Music.
Chen Chien-Chi’s contributions to the music industry have been recognised with numerous awards, including the Golden Bell Award for sound effects and the Golden Melody Award for Best Music Production. His musical style is known for its delicate emotional expression and innovative timbres, often breaking traditional musical boundaries to provide new experiences for listeners.
In 2023, Chen Chien-Chi served as the chairman of the jury for the 34th Golden Melody Awards. In 2024, he will take on the role of music director for Hunan TV’s Singer 2024. Currently, in addition to continuing his music creation, he also serves as an adjunct professor at National Taiwan Normal University and holds a guest lecture position at Feng Chia University, dedicated to promoting music education and creation. His influence in the music industry and ongoing creative activities make him one of the important figures in contemporary Taiwanese music.
