Founder, BookDoc
Dato’ Chevy Beh was the co-founder of BookDoc, an online and mobile healthcare platform that enables patients to search and connect with medical-care professionals, book a ride or accommodation for their treatment, receive health coaching and get rewarded for staying active.
A former investment banker in New York, Beh returned to Malaysia to help his father with the BP Healthcare Group. Under his leadership, Beh introduced new strategies that enabled the group to provide affordable quality healthcare and forged new business units, including spearheading BP’s own brand of products and medical devices, as well as its popular diagnostic centres.
In 2014, Beh left BP to team up with Joel Neoh, the ex-CEO of Groupon Asia-Pacific, to establish health tech company BookDoc. Possessing the Midas touch, the online mobile and healthcare platform quickly grew, in part by attracting an impressive list of partners, from healthcare to insurance and airline companies. Early investors included the likes of Brunei royalty Prince Abdul Qawi, former international banker Datuk Yvonne Chia and a family member of Chinese billionaire Stanley Ho. By 2018, BookDoc had garnered more than 350,000 users, and expanded its presence to Hong Kong and Singapore.
A distinguished polo player who was formerly the captain of the England Under-21 team, Beh was appointed a member of the Panel of Experts for the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Beh passed away in August 2022 at the age of 37.
