Creating a better parent-child learning environment through education, design and companionship
Chen Zicheng, a former graphic designer and youth counsellor, founded SKIDs Education at the age of 24. The school is dedicated to developing educational materials and services for parent-child companionship, helping children manage their emotions while fostering understanding and communication with them. She also established SkidsTeach, a teacher academy aimed at making parent-child services more accessible, while implementing parent-friendly design principles in business spaces. Through Skids Design, she helps businesses create effective strategies and parent-centric designs to better serve family customers.
Chen firmly believes that education, design and companionship can create a better parent-child learning environment. In 2018, she founded Skids NGO and established the Little One No 1 after-school education base in Nan'ao, Yilan, to provide after-school companionship and non-academic education to children in remote areas. Her long-term concern for female education, particularly for young girls in rural areas, led her to develop Girls’ Day and establish the Skids GFF Girls’ Alliance, which has expanded to serve about 150 young girls and over 200 teachers across six counties and cities, providing materials and companionship to local non-profit organisations for adolescent girls.
In the past two years, she joined Funnow Group, Southeast Asia’s largest real-time booking platform, leading the Niceday Parent-Child Business Division for the Taiwan, Japan and Malaysia markets. Focusing on the Chinese-speaking community, she aims to make holidays more enjoyable for families, allowing parents to easily book courses for their children and helping businesses open classrooms to implement sustainable, parent-friendly and business-focused solutions.
“This is a challenging era, so what more can I do for the next generation of children and families?”
