A graduate of graphic design from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Chen Yanfei served as an art director for various media groups. In 2011, he founded Pusu Design and began a series of furniture and interior design projects. The saying “no beauty in the world can match that of simplicity” by Zhuangzi, a historical figure known as Master Zhuang, dictates the style of Pusu, which also strictly follows eco-friendly criteria for material selection. Pusu makes use of fine and soft-coloured woods including natural materials like bamboo, rattan, palm, lacquer and stone and combines traditional mortise and tenon joint structures with modern precise computing technology.
