Chayanisa Chomchuendee

Pole Vaulter

 

For putting Thailand on the pole vaulting map

A native of Thailand’s Surin province, Chayanisa was introduced to pole vaulting at university. She placed third in her first Southeast Asian Games in 2009 and has subsequently won the title three times. She also bagged a silver at the 2018 Asian Games, becoming the first Thai vaulter to win a medal, while at the same time setting a new national record of 4.30 metres.
