The Front Row | The creative director, producer and mother of three maintains an evolving sense of style

Charmaine Seah-Ong is a prominent figure in Singapore's fashion and lifestyle scene, whose evolving style is a testament to her enduring elegance, ingenuity and forward thinking.

So it is no surprise that when it comes to the sartorial legacy that she hopes to be remembered for, “I want to be commemorated for every single piece of Dries Van Noten that I own. Hands down,” comes her quick reply. But beyond Seah-Ong’s devotion to one of the shining jewels of The Antwerp Six fashion collective, “I would also want my daughters to inherit my wedding cheongsam that my childhood friend Jade Swee designed for me under her label, Time Taken to Make A Dress,” the mother of three tells us. “It features a beautiful stiff high collar, buttons all the way down my spine, intricate nude lace and beadwork on the bodice, and a timeless peplum waist that’s inspired by the design of a Nyonya kebaya. It’s the most treasured item in my wardrobe, because it’s what I wore on one of the most special days of my life.”
