Founder, AAMA Taipei

Charles Yen has turned retirement into a mission to help others realize their entrepreneurial dreams

Asia America Multi-technology Association originated in Silicon Valley in 1979 as a network for strengthening business relations and promoting business development in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2012, Charles Yen (Lo Yu Yen) initiated the AAMA Cradle Project in Taipei after his retirement from a 30-year career in management consulting and accounting firms.

His experience with corporate growth strategies and IPO planning led him to observe that Taiwan lacked an entrepreneurial ecosystem where mentors shared their knowledge across generations. Taipei Cradle Project works from the belief that “success cannot be copied, but wisdom can be passed on”, and in 2021 celebrated its 10th anniversary, drawing over 225 entrepreneurs into its circle. Yen also sees the opportunities in linking Taiwan’s traditional industries with the new wave of 5G, Big Data, IoT, and AI innovators.
