In December 2018, Carina became the first Filipina to successfully ascend Vinson Massif, the highest mountain in Antarctica. As part of the Kaya ng Pinoy expedition, she was one of the first three Filipinas to reach the peak of Mount Everest. This unstoppable force, who is also a Lieutenant Junior Grade Officer in the Philippine Coast Guard, has since scaled Denali (North America), Aconcagua (South America), Kilimanjaro (Africa), Kosciuszko (Australia) and Elbrus (Europe).
