An investment mogul and philanthropist dedicated to backing Southeast Asia and India’s most passionate entrepreneurs in building world-class companies

Since founding Creador in 2011, Brahmal Vasudevan has built the private equity firm into a multibillion-dollar powerhouse known for strategic foresight and meaningful impact. Specialising in mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring, Creador has developed a diverse regional portfolio spanning Malaysia, India, Indonesia, and Southeast Asia. In 2025, the firm closed its sixth fund at US$930 million—surpassing its US$750 million target—bringing total funds raised since inception to US$3.1 billion from a global network of investors.

Under Vasudevan’s leadership, Creador continues to back transformative businesses such as Big Pharmacy, now Malaysia’s largest pharmacy chain, and CCK Consolidated Holdings Berhad, with a RM160 million investment in its Indonesian food subsidiary. Beyond finance, Vasudevan channels his vision for equitable progress through the Creador Foundation and the Alaka Foundation, co-led with his wife, Shanthi Kandiah. Together, they support initiatives spanning healthcare, education, and community development.

In Sri Lanka, their partnership with Assist RR has funded more than 39,000 free cataract surgeries since 2023. Meanwhile in Malaysia, their educational platform Schola.org.my—launched under the Creador Foundation—has reached over 100,000 teenagers since its 2025 debut, empowering youth to make informed choices about their education and careers. Through these ventures, Vasudevan continues to merge business acumen with a deep-seated commitment to social progress.
