Taiwanese bus tycoon Bo Wen Li plans to go electric

Bo Wen Li is the chairman of The Federation of Highway and Intercity Bus Companies, an organization representing various bus companies, whose purpose is to help implement government transportation policies and laws.

Li is also the chairman of Capital Passenger Transport Group, which owns five bus companies, Capital, Taipei, Metropolitan, Sanchong, and Taichung Passenger Transport, accounting for two-thirds of all the public buses in Taipei, with a total of more than 4,000 buses and 6,000 employees.

Taiwan’s Ministry of Transportation announced the goal of fully electrifying buses by 2030, a project which Li will play a key part in realizing. In 2018, Li invested in an industrial zone plant to develop a manufacturing centre for low-chassis electric buses.
