Breaking barriers on and off the track, she’s driving Filipino pride to new heights
Bianca Bustamante continues to blaze new trails in global motorsport, becoming one of the most visible and influential young drivers on the international stage. After making history in 2022 as the first Filipino to compete in the W Series, she went on to join Prema Racing—one of Europe’s most elite junior teams, home to stars such as Charles Leclerc and Mick Schumacher—and later became part of the McLaren Driver Development Programme.
In the past two years, Bustamante’s journey has accelerated both on and off the track. She ended her 2024 F1 Academy season with a podium finish in Miami and placed seventh overall in the drivers’ standings before making the leap to mixed-gender competition in the GB3 Championship with Elite Motorsport. Her performance and poise under pressure have earned her a development driver role with CUPRA KIRO in Formula E, marking a milestone for Southeast Asian representation in electric racing. She also impressed during Formula E rookie tests in Spain and Berlin, finishing an impressive P3 at the Jarama circuit.
Beyond racing, Bustamante has grown into her role as a public figure, balancing visibility with purpose. With one of the largest followings among female drivers globally, she channels her platform to advocate for inclusivity in motorsport, inspire young talent—particularly from underrepresented backgrounds—and give back through mentorship and outreach. She was named among the SportsPro Media “150 Most Marketable Athletes” in 2024 and hosted her first Race to Inspire fan event in Manila to connect with her growing community.
Focused now on refining her racecraft, strengthening her mental resilience, and building an authentic personal brand that supports her racing, Bustamante aims to leave a legacy that transcends trophies: to change the game, create new pathways for female and non-traditional racers, and prove that success can come from the most unexpected places.
