At urban farming company Sustenir Group’s 10,000sqft farm, which grows strawberries, kale and edible flowers commercially, Benjamin Swan and his team employ sustainable techniques such as controlled environment agriculture, vertical farming and hydroponics. It aims to use land optimally, increasing yield while reducing water consumption. Since it started, the company has raised US$28.7 million in funding. In December 2021, Benjamin stepped back from his CEO position at Sustenir to start a new venture, Beco Ventures, which works with farmers to integrate technology into their grow environments and budgets to improve the efficiency of their production.
