A man of many hats, Benjamin Kheng is all of the above: musician, actor, songwriter, fedora aficionado, but perhaps is most famous for being the frontman of the break-out Singaporean band, The Sam Willows. The Sam Willows, which is signed onto Sony Music Singapore, got their big break in 2012 with the release of their self-titled album The Sam Willows and made their international debut in 2013 annual at the South by Southwest music festival in the US. Their second album, I Know, But Where, released this year, made its debut at number 1 on the Singapore iTunes chart on the day of its release. Since then, it has charted throughout Southeast Asia and Taiwan. Benjamin, however, doesn’t just use his voice to croon colorful pop melodies. In 2016, he became a staunch advocator to change the way the Primary School Leaving Exam (PSLE) results are viewed in Singaporean society.
