Audi Budiman keeps things simple and timeless, favouring classic, feminine pieces over chasing every new trend
Classic and feminine, that’s how Audi Budiman describes her style, and she’s not interested in overcomplicating it. She gravitates towards minimalist yet elegant pieces, and is definitely a neutral-colour girl. “I like things that are simple, elegant, comfortable and well put-together, rather than following every trend.” Nothing wrong with a good trend, of course, but Audi would rather keep things that feel timeless than chase whatever happens to be having a moment.
Her style may not have changed much over the years, but she says it has definitely evolved. She’s had an eye for fashion since childhood, though she doesn’t have one particular style icon. “I admire the pieces of a collection instead and build an entire look out of it.” She finds inspiration in the pieces themselves, often picking one and building the rest of her look around it. Her parents, she said, who were always stylish themselves, naturally had some influence on the way she sees fashion.
As for Malaysia’s fashion scene, Audi likes that it isn’t afraid to be bold when it calls for it. As it matures, she hopes more people will challenge fashion norms.
I would like to see more people challenge fashion norms.
