Musician, Producer, Apl.de.ap Foundation
APL Pineda, better known as Apl.de.Ap, gained popularity in the international music scene as a rapper and member of The Black Eyed Peas. The group started way back in 1988, but in November 2001, they hit the Billboard charts with singles, “Where is the Love?” and “Shut Up”.
Even though APL spent his formative years in the United States, he never forgot his Filipino roots and spoke proudly of it in The APL Song released in 2003. Apart from being a musician, he’s a record producer, entrepreneur and philanthropist who has won six Grammys on top of 15 nominations as part of The Black Eyed Peas. He’s also a regular judge of The Voice Teens Philippines, sharing his expertise in the business with aspiring young artists. Moreover, he founded the Apl.de.ap Foundation to support the Filipino youth in arts, technology, and healthcare.
