This IT professional turned venture capitalist is the brain behind several successful companies

Anurag Srivastava grew Space Matrix’s revenue from S$1 million to S$100 million in only five years; today it rakes in S$175 million a year. In 2022, Jungle Ventures raised $600 million to continue backing early-stage start-ups in Southeast Asia and India, adding up to more than $1 billion in assets under his management.

HIs workplace design-consultancy firm, headquartered in Singapore, has 15 offices across eight countries. Its clients include Superdry, Verizon, Changi Airport Group, Airbnb, IBM, Microsoft, Coca-Cola, Toyota and General Electric. Space Matrix is just one of at least four companies he co-founded.

Srivastava’s venture-capital company Jungle Ventures was founded in 2012, and aims to invest in about 12 to 13 companies per fund—in 2021, it closed its fourth fund, worth US$225 million. He also co-founded One Animation, an award-winning 3D animation studio which creates content that’s broadcast in more than 180 cities worldwide (fun fact: its animated series Oddbods is a three-time Emmy nominee). He was also behind Sconce, a product life-cycle management outfit headquartered in the US.

Indian-born Singaporean citizen Srivastava, who studied Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur, began his career at Indian multinational HCL Enterprise selling computers and technology products. His career has also previously taken him to the US and UK.
