Antony Leung is chairman of property developer Nan Fung Group and served as the Hong Kong government’s financial secretary between 2001 and 2003. He joined Nan Fung in 2014 and until 2021 was also its chief executive. He is also the chairman and co-founder of investment company New Frontier Group, which has interests in areas including healthcare and education. His first career was in banking, working for more than two decades for Citicorp in Hong Kong, Singapore, Manila, and New York before joining Chase Manhattan, eventually becoming its Asia-Pacific chairman, and then filling the same role for JP Morgan Chase.

After leaving government, he worked as asset manager Blackstone’s Asia chairman before joining Nan Fung. He is also a non-executive director of China Merchants Bank. Before becoming financial secretary, his previous roles in public service had included member of the Executive Council and chairman of the government’s Education Commission; while he has also been chairman of the University Grants Committee, a member of Exchange Fund Advisory Committee, and a director of Hong Kong Airport Authority. His charitable roles include chairman of two hunger-related NGOs, Heifer International Hong Kong and Food Angel.
