Antonio Carpio

Retired Supreme Court Associate Justice , Republic of the Philippines

Taking the wisdom of the past to the present, Retired Supreme Court Justice Antonio Carpio leads 1Sambayan in a bid for political change.

Retired Associate Justice Antonio Carpio had a choice when he opted to retire last 2019: Ride the sunset and enjoy retirement with his loved ones, or be of service again to the Filipino people?

Carpio chose the latter, reinventing his career in politics by becoming the Lead Convenor of the country’s newest political party 1Sambayan — the party of presidential aspirant and current Vice-President, Leni Robredo. Carpio’s political revival is shaped by nothing more than his patriotism and love for public service, both of which burned anew with the oppression brought about by the events of the past five years. For a man who has already served the country for more than three decades, it is a testament to integrity and sense of justice that he simply could not sit and watch.

Already a legend in Philippine politics as one of history’s most decorated Supreme Court justices, Carpio continues to move forward, believing that despite the challenges, Filipinos will choose a brand of justice that is competent and compassionate.
