Annette Gozon Valdes

Annette Gozon Valdes has steadily shaped the Philippine entertainment landscape through her leadership at GMA Network and GMA Pictures. Holding a cum laude degree in Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University, a law degree from the University of the Philippines, and a Master of Laws from Harvard Law School, she combines analytical discipline with narrative strategy. Her career has spanned programming oversight, content development and talent management—particularly as GMA expanded its “telefantasya” portfolio with shows such as Mulawin and Encantadia.

In 2025, Gozon Valdes further extended her influence across screens and society. As president of GMA Pictures, she accepted the Box Office Hit Award from the Manila International Film Festival for Hello, Love, Again, and was honoured as Producer of the Year at the 8th Entertainment Editors’ Awards (EDDYS).

The year also marked the 75th anniversary of GMA Network, during which she played a pivotal role in the GMA Gala 2025, reinforcing the network’s legacy and future-facing strategy. In recognition of her leadership and presence, she was listed in Tatler’s Asia’s Most Stylish 2025 and among Tingting’s Elegant Filipinas 2025.

Under her direction, GMA has pursued inter-network collaborations (including partnerships with ABS-CBN and Viu Philippines), expanded digital and global content platforms, and sustained philanthropic outreach through the GMA Kapuso Foundation’s July Marawi “Pay It Forward” educational campaign. Her continuing focus is on building talent, crafting stories and solidifying media innovation in the Philippines.
