Annette Gozon Valdes

Annette Gozon Valdes is president of GMA Films and GMA Worldwide, which together form a significant share of one of the Philippines’ biggest legacy media networks.

The history of the GMA Network can be traced all the way back to the 50s, but its rise to the top ranks of the Philippines’ media landscape came in the 90s, care of the network executive Felipe Gozon, who is now chairman and CEO. In keeping with the family legacy, his daughter Annette Gozon Valdes joined GMA and now fills three roles: president of GMA Films, president of GMA Worldwide, and programming consultant to her father. Through these roles, Gozon Valdes leads some of GMA’s fastest-growing projects and most prominent efforts today, including its acquisition of top celebrities and media personalities.

Gozon Valdes graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in management engineering, and then went on to study law at the University of the Philippines before earning a master’s degree from Harvard Law in 1999. By 2004, she became president of GMA Films, and by 2007, she was also president of GMA Worldwide. Gozon Valdes is now also the president of Anram Medical Group, which runs a dialysis centre, and is the chairman of Aptus Global Solutions, an outsourcing and offshoring solutions provider.
