Anna Du Toit

Anna Du Toit brings the same considered eye to everything she does, be it her style, her private dinner parties or her drawings. Best known for her meticulous ballpoint pen drawings and tactile sculptural installations, she creates work inspired by her surroundings, zooming in on overlooked details and reworking them into surreal meditations on home, identity and care. She applies this same creative philosophy to how she dresses.

“I like clothes that have a lot of shape and structure, but I’m still a utility‑forward person when it comes to what I wear,” she says. “Everything I wear should be suitable for any occasion. I should be able to exist in it.” Her wardrobe is functional yet unexpected—designed to take her from the office in the morning to a dinner or club at night. She favours local and regional labels such as Rye and Anaabu, choosing pieces that are, as she puts it, “well formed”.

Her hair, which has cycled through buzz cuts, bleached phases and deep autumn tones, is also key to her visual identity. As she explains: “Clothes can be easily changed, but you’re forced to change around your bodily modifications. My hair reflects or changes the way I style myself.”
