Managing director, Lion Travel Group
Collaborating with the tourism industry to create a sustainable future
Andy Huang, managing director of Lion Travel Group, holds a EMBA degree from National Chengchi University. With a career in tourism spanning nearly 40 years, he has transitioned from advertising to tourism, amassing extensive experience in tour guiding, product development and integrated marketing. Huang has served as an advisor to the Taiwan Tourism Administration, a supervisor at the Taiwan Tourist Association and a lecturer at several Taiwanese universities, including National Chengchi University and National Taiwan Normal University. Known for his commitment to people-centred service innovation, Huang has pioneered Silver Tourism and in-depth Taiwan tours, consistently aligning his offerings with market trends and demands. Through initiatives like Taiwan Heart Stories, Adult-Kid Fun Club, Railway Tourism and Forest Tourism series, he has successfully highlighted Taiwan’s local beauty and fostered community engagement, earning widespread acclaim.
In 2023, Huang founded the Taiwan LOHAS Association and became its inaugural chairperson. In an era where sustainability is a global priority, he believes the tourism industry must address how it can meaningfully adopt sustainable practices. Huang asserts that while individual companies can positively impact the environment, a united industry can shift the entire supply chain toward sustainability. Despite challenges like funding and resource limitations that many business owners face, Huang envisions the association as a platform for shared support and collaboration. By working together, he is confident the industry can achieve a more sustainable future for tourism.
