The Gen Z mobilising youth-led architecture initiatives nationwide

Just 18 years old, Andrew wears many hats—among the founders of Taiwan Youth Exhibition. Inspired by his father's belief that "architecture is also a way to change Taiwan," he founded a cross-disciplinary youth platform in 2024 and in the past 18 months has brought four flagship initiatives to life on the ground, including the Taiwan Youth Architecture and Art Exhibition and “Taiwan, Seen Through the Eyes of Youth and Children”—a programme that entered 40 rural communities and guided nearly a thousand schoolchildren in creating their own works. His work has drawn support from figures such as Ching Chung Foundation chairman 辜仲諒, and earned him the National Elite Award at the Taishin Youth Volunteer Excellence Awards.

Facing the enormous pressure of university applications running in parallel with multiple active projects, he has pushed through on his personal motto: "If you've decided to do it, do it as well as you possibly can." He will host the third Taiwan Youth Architecture and Art Exhibition on 18 July, with plans to hold an auction of rural children's artworks, channelling the proceeds back to their communities and the Chi Po-lin Foundation—using a sense of responsibility and original purpose to ensure that youth influence truly takes root in the land.
