Andrew Li

Executive director and CEO, Zouk Group

Visionary entertainment executive Andrew Li is a first mover in his space

Andrew Li is chief executive of Zouk Group, a sprawling entertainment conglomerate that operates a range of lifestyle concepts in several markets. Zouk Group has its roots in Singapore’s nascent nightlife scene of the early 1990s, starting with Zouk, a nightspot along Jiak Kim Street that was fashioned from three restored warehouses.

Today, Li has grown the brand to encompass everything from nightclubs to bars, karaoke outlets and dining concepts, even expanding to Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world, with Ayu Dayclub, and the open ocean with Zouk At Sea, a thematic weekend experience onboard the Genting Dream and World Dream cruise ships. Zouk Group also brought popular American burger chain Five Guys to Singapore in 2019, and is overcoming pandemic restrictions with its Zouk Digital live streams, which feature guest DJs.

Li’s daily tasks include overseeing the group’s expansion drive, operations, finances, business development and marketing. To unwind, he regularly takes part in Ironman triathlons; he also does yoga to stretch his body and strengthen his core.

"Whether it is during my Ironman triathlons or weathering the Covid storm, I’ve realised that the human mind and body are able to achieve much more than we believe we can.”
