The “Godfather of the IT Industry” and a devoted patron of the arts, Andrew Chew exercises his business acumen and a passion for creative pursuits as the chairman of the Chew’s Culture Foundation. Established in 1991, it was initially a venue for the presentation of original Taiwanese music, specifically, the annual concert series “Euterpe: Spring Autumn Music”. Inspired by this success, Chew sought to further promote the cultural values of music and visual arts by establishing the Hong-Gah Museum the following year, in honour of his late father. The Museum received its membership as one of the Local Cultural Museums of the Ministry of Culture in 2003.

Chew was once the chairman of the Art & Business National Culture and Art Foundation and the director of the National Culture and Arts Foundation. Before becoming fully immersed in the arts, he founded Taiwan’s first microelectronics company, Universal Electronics, in 1969.
