Standing at the forefront of the nation’s digital banking revolution, Ana Maria Aboitiz-Delgado is the president and CEO of UnionBank of the Philippines. The daughter of the late Ambassador Roberto Eduardo “Bobby” Aboitiz and Marian Aboitiz, she earned her MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business before beginning her career at Citibank. She later joined UnionBank, where her sharp vision and leadership have been instrumental in propelling the institution into the digital age.

Aboitiz-Delgado’s rise through the ranks, from executive vice president and chief customer experience officer to chairperson of CitySavings, culminated in her appointment as president and CEO in January 2025. Her tenure has been defined by a commitment to innovation and inclusion, guiding UnionBank through its digital transformation and overseeing milestones such as the acquisition of Citibank NA’s local consumer business.

Her transformative leadership has not gone unnoticed. In 2025, Aboitiz-Delgado was named one of Fortune magazine’s 100 Most Powerful Women in Asia, ranking 94th. At just 44, she is the youngest Filipino and the only first-time honouree from the country to join a roster of industry leaders from across the region. Grounded yet future-focused, she continues to champion a human-centred approach to technology, ensuring that progress in banking remains both inclusive and empowering.
