Actor
THE COLLECTORS | Allison Lin embraces acting, photography, and fashion as fearless self-expression, guided by courage and creativity.
Allison Lin refuses to be defined by a single label. An actress and photographer, she has also found herself unexpectedly drawn to cooking and fashion—two worlds she once resisted. Her philosophy is simple yet bold: “It’s not just about being yourself, it’s about having the courage to become!”
As a teenager, Allison admits she disliked dressing up, thinking fashion was only about pleasing others. Her perspective shifted after discovering the works of Japanese manga artist Ai Yazawa (NANA, Heaven’s Kiss, Saint Gakuen Angel), whose stylish, unconventional characters revealed that fashion could be about individuality and self-expression.
Photography is another passion that shapes her artistry. She has exchanged ideas on lighting and equipment with professionals and once cheekily photographed photographer Hideaki Hamada to learn about his camera model. For Allison, photography is playful discovery, whether capturing peers or friends. “Girls helping girls take sexy photos—it carries a sense of freedom and sisterly perspective.”
