The researcher bridging AI, neuroscience and space science
Dr Alina Gutoreva is a cognitive researcher and head of the Artificial Intelligence Lab at the Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU), working at the intersection of AI, neuroscience and human behaviour. Her project SANA-1—the first study in Central Asia to examine a female crew living under prolonged isolation conditions simulating a space mission—has drawn attention for its focus on how women adapt to extreme environments, an area that remains under-researched globally. Alina is also developing international research collaborations and building interdisciplinary programmes at KBTU aimed at applying scientific research to real-world problems.
