Alim Markus

A giant multi-national conglomerate with more than businesses to its name, the Maspion Group has been piloted by Alim Markus as President Director since 1971. The group, created by Markus’ father in the early 1960s. started as a small business that sold lamps.

Under Markus’ leadership, Maspion Group expanded into one of the most successful groups of companies in Indonesia, widely recognised as the country’s leading manufacturer of household utensils. It’s now also known for its electric household appliances. The group supplies to retailers and wholesalers in the United States and other countries, but it remains beloved by many Indonesians for its philosophy of prioritising local products.

Moreover, he holds many top-level positions in many of the Maspion Group’s subsidiaries, including as the President Director of Indal Aluminium Industry Tbk and Alumindo Light Metal Industry Tbk. Markus also serves as the Vice-Chairman of the East Java Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
