The construction magnate is building progress and empowering communities through commerce and construction

Guiding Sta. Elena Construction and Development Corporation from a small start-up to one of the Philippines’ leading infrastructure companies, Alice Eduardo has defined her career through precision, perseverance and purpose. Her company has delivered key national projects—ports, bridges, roads and power plants that power communities across the country. Among Sta. Elena’s major undertakings are three natural gas-fired power plants built in partnership with international engineering firms, completed safely and on schedule.

Her leadership extends beyond business. In September 2025, the University of Santo Tomas awarded her an honorary Doctor of Commerce degree, citing her as a “Woman of Steel” who has advanced progress through enterprise and integrity—a distinction shared with figures such as Tony Tan Caktiong and the late President Corazon Aquino. Earlier, she received the Innovation Excellence Award for Engineering at the 2024 PhilDev Gala.

Eduardo’s influence also spans philanthropy. She has funded the construction of medical facilities, including an isolation ward for paediatric cancer patients at the Philippine General Hospital, and supports causes such as Habitat for Humanity, Go Negosyo and Caritas Manila. Recent efforts focus on renewable energy and social infrastructure, ensuring development that creates employment and supports sustainability. Balancing enterprise with empathy, she continues to build both structures and opportunities that strengthen Filipino communities.

“Each project represents our team’s role in nation-building and my fulfilment as a builder and leader.”
