Founder, Imperial Treasure Restaurant Group

A stalwart of the Chinese fine-dining industry, Alfred Leung heads up the long-running Imperial Treasure dining chain

Alfred Leung is the co-founder and CEO of Imperial Treasure Restaurant Group, which serves fine Hong Kong-style Chinese cuisine incorporating authentic Teochew, Cantonese and Shanghainese fare in contemporary settings.

The first restaurant, Imperial Treasure Teochew Cuisine, opened at Ngee Ann City shopping mall in 2004, offering impeccable service and renowned Chinese delicacies as key selling points. The group presently operates over 20 establishments in Singapore, Mainland China, Hong Kong, South Korea, the UK and France. Its restaurants have also garnered more than 50 accolades to date, including honours bestowed by Michelin, as well as Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants and the World Gourmet Summit Awards of Excellence.

One of Imperial Treasure’s culinary specialties is its Peking Duck dish. Each bird is matured for an average of 40 days, then cooked and carved at the table in just-right proportions of thin slices of crispy skin and slices of meat, served in paper-thin home-made pancakes.

Leung sold a majority stake in 2015 to Malaysia-based private equity firm, Navis Capital for a reported SG$60-$80 million, but he continues to head the company.
