The Creatives | A style journey shaped by comfort and awareness

Alexander Gotama has developed a personal approach to fashion that he describes as “classic with a twist ”—clean, neat, yet always with distinct details. His interest in style began as a child and has evolved through various phases, including a taste for early 2000s hip-hop with bandanas and wide-leg pants. Over time, his choices have matured, guided by two key principles: comfort and an appreciation for the artistry behind design.

The pandemic had an additional impact. While renovating his home with a minimalist palette of beige , white, and gray, Alexander discovered his love for neutrals, which now dominate his wardrobe—from beige and mocha to black and white. Shoes, especially sneakers, are his favorite element, although he also invests in quality outerwear. Simple accessories like watches and sunglasses complete his look, adding a polished feel without being overdone.

One of his career highlights was attending the Dior and Valentino shows in Paris—a moment he considers his most stylish appearance. However, in everyday life, he prefers curated simplicity, with a casual style that prioritizes comfort. Amidst the rapid flow of fast fashion, Alexander emphasizes the importance of sustainability in the industry. He emphasized the need for awareness and education for the younger generation to be wiser in making clothing choices that are not only stylish but also long-lasting.

"The fashion industry moves very quickly. It's time for us to prioritize sustainability and educate the younger generation to be more discerning in their clothing choices."
