Diplomat, Republic of the Philippines
Despite having retired from government, career diplomat Albert Del Rosario remains a vocal proponent of the Philippines’ sovereignty, and an influential figure in Philippine statecraft foreign policy today. From 2001 to 2006, Del Rosario served under President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as the ambassador of the Philippines to the United States—he was our “man in Washington.” In 2011, Del Rosario was appointed as Secretary of Foreign Affairs by former President Benigno Aquino III. Throughout his career he has strengthened foreign relations and has is greatly respected by peers locally and overseas. Before his time in government, Del Rosario was a business executive with directorships and interests in various companies.
