Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn is the President and Group CEO of Permodalan Nasional Berhad, one of the largest fund-management companies in Malaysia with more than RM320 billion in assets under management. Prior to this, he served for six years as the deputy managing director in Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Malaysia’s sovereign wealth fund, where he was in charge of the strategic fund, managing its strategic holdings in government-linked companies and heading the corporate strategy team.

An economics graduate from Harvard University, Onn has two decades’ experience in the financial services and corporate sectors. He started out as an analyst in UBS Warburg before leaving to join national asset-management company, Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Bhd. Following that, he served at CIMB Group and was later appointed director of Symphony Group. In 2009, he was made the managing director and CEO of Danajamin Nasional Berhad, Malaysia’s first and only financial gurantee insurer.

Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn is married and has three teenage children.
