Adriel Chan succeeded his father as Chair of Hang Lung Group and Hang Lung Properties

Adriel Chan took over from his father Ronnie as chairman of Hang Lung Properties and its parent company Hang Lung Group in April 2024. He oversees all aspects of the group and chairs its Sustainability Steering Committee. Both at work and beyond the office, he’s dedicated to creating positive social impact.

He joined the company in 2010 and has been instrumental in leading sustainability initiatives and strategic developments ever since. He became its executive director in 2016, and worked before that in finance and risk management. Mainly a property developer but also with interests in property management, car parks, and dry cleaning, Hang Lung was founded in 1960 by his grandfather, Chan Tseng-hsi.

The companies are recognised for their continuing efforts to foster sustainable development.

Chan has had roles in finance, leasing, and project management, and oversees the companies’ development and design, project management, and cost control operations. He has been one of the key people behind the company’s successful 66 collection of mixed-use properties in mainland China, led by Shanghai’s Plaza 66. He has also been a director of design and marketing agency GoPublic Mediaworks since 2007.

He is a vice president and executive committee member of the Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong and a member of the advisory council of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Business School.
