110 According to CYZone’s Global Unicorn Companies Insight Report, 110 new startups reached the billion dollar valuation in 2024. 

656 The US leads the pack with the most number of unicorn companies globally with 656 startups in 2024. 

51% Silicon Valley unicorns are typically overvalued by about 51 per cent, according to Stanford Graduate School of Business Professor Ilya Strebulaev.

1,200 Business analytics platform CB Insights found that, as of December 2024, there are about 1,200 zombie unicorns globally waiting to go public.

2021 was an incredible year for fundraising, with the number of unicorns hitting a peak of 621 globally. But that significantly dropped to only 95 in 2023, the lowest since 2016, because of a slowdown in venture capital funding and the sluggish IPO market among other factors.
