OPM icons speak on the current state of the Philippine music industry

Hi,

This month, we spotlight Filipinos who are recognised for their God-given talents in music in our Entertainment and Culture Issue. For the first time in Tatler Philippines’ 23-year history, we celebrate the diversity among our country's musicians and artists–from indigenous sounds to Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and now, P-pop.

We pay tribute to our cover stars Gary Valenciano, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Pops Fernandez and Martin Nievera, who paved the way and significantly impacted our vibrant and extraordinary music scene. While there are many artists we could have highlighted, we decided to showcase individuals whose careers have spanned over 40 years and who have set the standard for their contribution to the Philippine music industry. Shot at the Newport Performing Arts Theater by master photographer Mark Nicdao, the cover story is nothing short of spectacular, with the four artists sharing their journeys and their views on the current state of the local music industry.
