Why Benjamin Swan is passionate about the future of food security and sustainable agriculture

Hello again! It’s a short week for most of us in the region as Good Friday falls on April 7, making it a long weekend. We have plenty of ideas on how you should celebrate Easter Sunday with your loved ones this weekend–whether it is to go egg-hunting with your kids or enjoy a lavish brunch with friends and family. Here at Tatler, we’re celebrating and championing sustainability this month. For this sole reason, we looked no further than the eco-warrior himself Benjamin Swan to be the cover star of our April issue. Find out how the quest for good salad led the Sustenir co-founder and Beco Ventures founder to start a multimillion-dollar urban farming company and develop groundbreaking technology that not only yields quality produce but completely disrupts the farming industry.

Now that Watches & Wonders 2023 has wrapped up, don’t forget to read Tatler Asia’s take on the best of the best at the international watch fair in Geneva, Switzerland. Besides all things horology, the world of fashion has been extremely exciting of late. For one, Dior held a spectacular Fall 2023 presentation in Mumbai last week as the iconic Gateway of India set the stage. Additionally, The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre was officially opened in Mumbai and celebrities such as Tom Holland, Priyanka Chopra and more showed up to celebrate. But of course, it was the one and only Zendaya who stole the show in a beautiful custom Rahul Mishra couture sari-inspired gown. Here are five other Indian designers to know.

While the iconic Jurong Bird Park closed its doors in January earlier this year, we won’t need to wait too long before we get to see our favourite animals again as the country’s new bird park, Bird Paradise, is set to open its doors on May 8.

A well-deserved upgrade after 52 years, the new bird park will see 3,000 birds migrating over from Jurong Bird Park to their new sanctuary. “This ‘great migration’ was a first-time experience for both our birds and employees and I am glad to share that they are all settling in well at their new home,” shares group CEO of Mandai Wildlife Group, Mike Barclay.

Visitors can look forward to over 400 different avian species, including some of the world’s most threatened species like the Philippine Eagles and Straw-headed Bulbuls.
