Simply going to the gym can get tiresome after a while, but don't fret, there are many different workouts in town to try out.

We round up our top five below: 


Boxing

What’s great about boxing is that it not only enhances your hand-eye coordination, it also hones your sense of competition (not only with others, but also with yourself). Every round in the ring pushes you to strengthen your technique, reflexes, agility, and endurance.

Pilates

Miss World-Philippines 2013, Megan Young, shows us how it's done!

For those who enjoy yoga yet crave for the intensity of strength training, this just might be the next workout to try! Named after creator Joseph Pilates, this program focuses on methods of control, repetition, and focus on breathing. Much like yoga, it does challenge you to hold your poses with accurate form. What makes it greuling is its long bouts of repetition and intrinsic muscle exercises that will surely tone you up in no time.

Yoga instructor, Rianna Gatus, challenges herself with this resistance/ TRX training routine

Also known as “Total Resistance Exercise”, this system was developed by former U.S. Navy Seal, Randy Hetrick. The program focuses on using your own body weight to develop strength, balance, and flexibility with the use of ropes called “suspension trainers”. If you’re looking to build muscle strength and tone, give this workout a spin!


Plana Forma

A combination of barre technique with dance choreography, and methods of yoga and pilates – Plana Forma is an all-in-one program for the fitness buff in you. This focuses on the hard-to-reach areas like thighs, abs, and arms with energetic routines and intense repetitions. 

TATLER TIP: There are different Plana Forma classes that cater to your needs, like Flow, Pointe, Asana, Endurance, etc. Be sure to try them all out to know which program works best for you. Don't forget to bring your sticky socks!

Ride Revolution holds fun spinning classes that match their routines with different soundtrack mixes!

Spinning classes have been in vogue for the past years but it still remains a go-to for many fitness enthusiasts – and for good reason! Each class varies but you can expect it to challenge you to your limits. Some classes will ask you to whip out a couple of weights to amp up the routine, but don’t fret, it’s all worth it at the end of the ride.

TATLER TIP: Best to go with a few buddies; this will make the whole experience much more enjoyable, and not to mention you get a support system to get you through the high-speed bouts!
