As Venus makes contact with Jupiter, Neptune, and Pluto this week, you might be tempted to lean into your romantic side

Welcome back to our weekly astrology series led by Hong Kong-based Western astrologer, De Rui.

Saturn helps us with focus and perseverance just as the Sun-Mars conjunction boosts the collective energy level. The third Mercury retrograde of the year begins with a kick. Venus contacts and the Moon in more personal signs this week brings heightened emotional experiences.

Motivated to work hard

Stars signs affected the most: Gemini and Sagittarius will get the job done.

The week begins with some strong productive energies as the Sun continues to close in on Mars, ramping up our will to win. Meanwhile, these two also form a positive contact with Father Saturn. This could very well be a time when the various rules and restrictions on life right now actually support our goals. We can also be motivated to work hard and stay the course, even if the odds look to be against us.

Mercury retrograde brings challenges

Stars signs affected the most: Gemini and Virgo should think before they speak.

Mercury goes retrograde on Monday for the third time this year until October 18. Getting your message across will become more challenging. On top of the retrograde, Mercury also makes a harsh contact with dark and powerful Pluto around midweek, bringing the potential for hard truths to come to light. If you are the bearer of bad news, do it as gently as possible. If you are on the receiving end, take some deep breaths and try not to shoot the messenger, so to speak.

Heightened romanticism

Stars signs affected the most: Taurus and Libra might encounter some sparks.

Venus, the planet of love and beauty, makes contact with Jupiter, Neptune, and Pluto this week, bringing a sense of heightened romanticism and decadence. Any yearnings for a fairytale type of love affair could rise now to the surface. Ideals of perfection can seem more accessible. By the weekend, the energy picks up some intensity and we may be tempted to create a little drama. Unleash your passionate side.
