1. Pottery

There’s something so satisfying about shaping clay with your bare hands and watching it transform from a simple lump of soil to a unique work of art. Whether you want to craft personalised mugs, decorative bowls, or even decorative sculptures, pottery-making allows you to unwind and express yourself in a way no other mediums can.

2. Film photography

Film photography requires patience as it demands a slower, more deliberate approach to capturing moments. However, the rewards make the effort worthwhile. While digital photography offers quicker and more predictable results, it can’t match the thrill of waiting to see each image develop one frame at a time.

If you’re looking for a film processing lab to scan your film photos in two to three days, consider Sunny 16 Lab. This premiere film finishing lab in the Philippines features a full-service black-and-white dark room and photography studio for rent.

The team aims to provide a quality output when processing negatives, achieving a photographer’s vision frame by frame.

3. Rage painting

Rage painting has got to be the most therapeutic hobby out there today.  As the name suggests, it’s all about channeling intense emotion—frustration, anger, stress—into a burst of creative energy. The Splat Room in Manila, offers an avenue where you and your friends can go bananas with the paint and canvas.

4. Padel

While tennis and padel seem to look the same, there are many things that differentiate both sports, these include racket, ball, types of service, court dimensions, court surface, and even net height. But the most identifiable difference between the two is the glass walls that surround the padel court. Padel players use special rackets that have smaller frames. Instead of the typical tennis racket that uses nylon strings, padel rackets have solid impact surfaces that are usually made up of rubber. The padel rackers are pretty light, allowing players to have enough control to put the ball on a good spot.

Due to the padel racket's smaller size, the balls used for the game are also smaller than that of tennis. A tennis ball must have a diametre between 6.54cm and 6.86cm. The diametre of a padel ball needs to be between 6.35cm and 6.77cm.The most notable difference between padel and tennis is the court. The former is usually played in doubles inside an enclosed court that is roughly 35 per cent smaller than the size of a tennis court.

5. Pilates

Pilates not only strengthens the body but also nurtures the mind. If you’re new to the mat, this type of exercise offers a relatively gentle routine to stay active and centered throughout the holiday season.

Unlike high-intensity workouts, pilates is a practice that gradually engages muscles, promoting long-term toning and alignment without straining the joints. This makes it accessible to people with varying fitness goals and levels.

6. Swimming or Freediving

As a holiday hobby, swimming will make you feel fit and alive as it helps you relax all while making those muscles work at the same time. Whether you're taking a dip in a local pool or enjoying the freedom of open water, swimming offers a refreshing escape from the seasonal frenzy.

7. ‘Miniature making’

Make a small living space, library, or even food! Through miniature making, you and your loved ones can construct intricate tiny furniture and landscape that offers a rewarding sense of accomplishment. From the texture of a tiny teacup to the fine details of a little garden, each piece becomes a work of art that tells a story.

8. Skydiving

Siquijor is known for its pristine beaches, lush jungles, and crystal-clear waters. But for the adventurous traveller seeking an adrenaline rush, skydiving in this area offers a unique way to discover the beauty of the island.

For beginners, tandem skydiving is the best option. Through this activity, you will experience being harnessed to an experienced instructor who will guide you throughout the process—from the thrilling freefaal, to the gentle parachute descent.
