Century Tuna Superbods winner Justine Felizarta shares how you can be the best version of yourself
When embarking on your fitness journey, mustering up the willpower to commit is only half the battle. The other half is knowing what to do. You may be willing to give up your favourite snacks, but without the proper regimen, all your efforts will be for naught. We asked Century Tuna Superbods 2024 Grand Winner Justine Felizarta for some tips on how she became her best self.
“I used to think weight loss meant starving myself and overworking my body, all to look ‘skinny and sexy.’ Now, I’m embracing a healthier, more balanced approach to fitness,” Felizarta said in a social media post.

The workout routine
Felizarta’s workout routine focuses mainly on cardio and core exercises. From running and burpees to lunges and planks, it’s always great to have a well-rounded programme that includes a mix of strength training, flexibility work, and cardiovascular exercises. “I’m all about cardio because nothing beats a good sweat and a fun challenge,” she says.
A big portion of Felizarta’s routine also includes sports. “My go-to’s are HIIT classes, tennis, and boxing a few times a week,” she quips. If you’re looking for a toned and lean body figure, she swears by Pilates to “hit those muscles that tend to get overlooked.”

Sometimes though, sticking to a strict routine every day just doesn’t match our busy schedules. If you’re in a hurry but still want to squeeze in a quick workout, Felizarta recommends 30-minute incline walks and lifting free weights at home.
The diet

Perhaps the most critical part of your fitness journey, sticking to a strict diet that meets your desired results is crucial. Protein should be top of mind as it supports muscle repair as you strain them during your workout while a balanced amount of carbohydrates helps you stay energised. Unfortunately for sweet tooths, you’ll have to cut down on sugar. These foods are often high in calories with next to no nutritional value, so it’s time to say goodbye to all your guilty pleasures. “My diet is my ultimate weapon for staying lean. I loaded up on protein and sweet potatoes and kicked sugar to the curb,” says Felizarta.
