Gyms may have reopened in Hong Kong, but those looking to work up a sweat still have to wear a face mask while exercising, so we're listing seven face masks that feature lightweight and breathable materials––perfect for your next workout
As of September 4, gyms in Hong Kong were able to reopen after being closed since mid-July to help prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Hong Kong. But although fitness centres across the city have opened their doors once more, those wishing to get back to their usual routine still have to wear a face mask while working out in line with the current social distancing restrictions.
While we’ve been accustomed to wearing masks day-to-day for many months now, wearing one while working up a sweat is a whole different ball game. Many in Hong Kong wear surgical face masks, but with exercise these can become damp and make it harder to breathe––with the dampness also promoting bacterial growth which may lead to problems such as maskne. Because of this, masks made with breathable fabrics, similar to those used in activewear such as spandex and polyester are your best bet, or you can opt for masks made from natural materials, as these will likely be both more comfortable and make it easier to breathe.
Here we list seven lightweight and breathable face masks to wear while working out in the gym.
