“The hair at the back of the scalp is genetically programmed to never fall off,” Dr Rafael Fortus, Clinique de Paris medical director, explains. “So when you take those individual hairs and place them onto an area of concern, they retain that characteristic.” This is the reason why a hair transplant is permanent—and highly sought-after. Clinique de Paris exclusively utilises a method called direct hair implantation (DHI), in which each hair is carefully and expertly placed by a doctor. “This allows the surgeon full control over the direction, the density, the depth,” Dr Fortus says. “It’s akin to making a tapestry every single day.
