I have hadI have had the privilege of having many experiences that relate to health and well-being, with that said, I’ve travelled extensively around Asia and tried and tested most of them, one treatment that is close to home that has helped me tremendously which I’d like to introduce today is Chinese cupping.
One of the earliest documentations of Chinese cupping can be found in a handbook written by Ge Hong, a Taoist herbalist, dates back to 300 AD.
Chinese cupping uses small glass cups as suction devices that are placed onto the skin. The suction as described lightly draws the skin into the cup, once the suction has occurred, the cups can be gently moved across the skin. Chinese cupping is like the inverse of a massage: rather than applying pressure to muscles, it uses gentle pressure to pull them upward. For most patients, this is a particularly relaxing and relieving sensation. Once suctioned, the cups are generally left in place for about ten minutes while the patient relaxes.
The suction provided by cupping can loosen muscles and encourage blood flow. It is used to relieve back and neck pain, stiff muscles, anxiety, fatigue and headaches.
It is certainly something I recommend, as it has helped me improve the blood flow in my body, and I hope it will do the same for you all.
