Having anger issues? You can try these tips from experts
If you happen to watch Beef—a Netflix series tackling the lengths people will go to when angry—and forged a deep connection to it, good news awaits your door. The anger (and rage) you are feeling is valid. It is part of your emotions, after all. You just have to find ways to express it better, preferably healthily and reasonably.
It is difficult to think once you’ve entered such a state, but you must remain calm or, at the very least, remove yourself from the situation. Only then can you release all the pent-up emotions freely and properly.

In a prior interview with Tatler, yoga and meditation expert Maxene Magalona listed several ways to better deal with these emotions.
Doing research

You are a smart person. Reading this list means you are aware of your anger issues and doing something about it. The best way to start finding ways to express your anger is to discover what will work best for you.
“What I would suggest for those who want to try different healing modalities is to do your research and exploration,” says Magalona. “But what I would suggest, especially for those experiencing rage. . .I highly recommend seeking therapy to ask help from a professional,” she also recommends.
Sādhanā

If you’re a morning person, Sadhana is worth a try. It is a daily spiritual practice—the first thing you do after waking up, according to Magalona, who has learnt this from her experience in the School of Healing Arts in Bali, Indonesia.
“My teacher [Daniella Mandela] said you [must] first do a physical cleanse, meaning you wash your face, you wash your body, you brush your teeth, the mouth, the eyes, the nose, your private parts, your anus, anything,” she says.
After that, you may engage in any activity that enhances your well-being, whether that be yoga, meditation, prayer, exercise, or any other health-promoting habit. Instil in yourself a sense of discipline until this becomes your daily routine.

Setting up an altar

Another thing you can do is to set up an altar. “One of my meditation teachers, Colette Davis, said that your altar is your station of amplification,” shares Magalona. It doesn't need to be just crystals or anything ostentatious.
According to Davis, this altar “is where you put in all the energies that you would like to call in in your life.” So, when you want to set up your altar, you have to put all the things that are important to you and allot a minute or hour of your day in front of it.
Doing exercise

Exercise is important. “People don’t see the connection,” Magalona starts. “You think exercise is just for the physical body, but no exercise is.”
This is good for all aspects of your being because when you exercise, you train yourselves to be mentally strong. After all, sometimes, laziness gets the best of everyone. “Exercising every day is not a punishment for your body. It’s a celebration of what your body can do. So, you exercise,” she adds. “If you have anger issues, you can go boxing.”

Letting go

Surrender and let go. According to Magalona, life is about letting go of yourself, expectations, attachments, and desires. It’s about letting go of your ego and negative energy. “Letting go of what no longer serves you so that you can create space for what is truly meant for you,” she insists.
She further says that the “more you let go, the more your authentic side will be revealed. That is healing. Healing is about removing the layers, the suffocating layers of these limiting beliefs, past conditionings, and staying stuck in a negative cycle.”
