Asia continues to dominate global mobility as the Henley Passport Index reveals Singapore's unmatched travel freedom, with Hong Kong passport holders now enjoying visa-free access to 171 destinations
The 2026 Henley Passport Index has reaffirmed Asia's commanding position in global mobility, with Singapore securing the top spot for the third consecutive year. Meanwhile, Hong Kong has made notable gains, climbing three places to rank 15th globally—a significant improvement that reflects the city's strengthening diplomatic ties and expanding international access.
The index, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, measures passport strength based on the number of destinations holders can access without obtaining a visa in advance. Using exclusive data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the rankings provide a comprehensive snapshot of global travel freedom in 2026.
